FAQ | HiFi Record Consoles & Furniture | LUNO
1What is your lead time?
Since every piece is handcrafted, built to order, and hand-wired, please allow an estimated 10 -12+ weeks production time. We try our very best to get orders completed as quick as humanly possible but please be aware we cannot give exact completion dates as it varies greatly based on our workload at any given time and a number of other factors such as production capacity of a small team. The lead time does NOT include shipping & transit time which also varies based on location and carrier. Accessory items are available for purchase in the shop, please read the descriptions on lead times & shipping options.
2What type of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards, PayPal, and checks.
3Do you offer domestic shipping?
We ship all of our consoles and large items via a third party freight company. LUNO is not responsible for rates and lead times as they are provided by the carrier. All pieces are delivered white glove - meaning they're crated, brought inside your home to your desired space, and are fully insured should any damage occur during transit. Please contact us with your location for rates or feel free to make your own shipping arrangements. Local Los Angeles delivery is available through one of our trusted, insured delivery companies. The Flip Desktop Units, Tom Crates, and Groovewasher Kits ship via USPS Priority or Priority Express.
4Do you offer international shipping?
Yes we can! We recommend an all inclusive, white glove (crating, fully insured, brought inside your home) international shipping package that is a very easy, hassle-free solution! This is booked via a third party freight company therefore we are not responsible for rates and lead times. Prices and transit times vary based on location so please feel free to email us for a quote and we would be happy to assist you with generating a rate from the shipping company.
5What happens if my item is damaged in transit or shipping?
It is your responsibility to inspect your item upon arrival. If your item is damaged or defective in any way, you have 48 hours to notify us so we can make a claim with the freight (or shipping) company and help you get your item fixed. Items not reported within 48 hours are not eligible for claims unless covered by our limited warranty.
6Can I put my own electronics into one of your consoles or just get the cabinet?
All of our consoles come fully equipped and ready to play. Our systems have gone through rigorous amounts of tests to ensure the best sound quality possible so at this time we don't offer our consoles sans equipment. If you would like a custom setup, please contact us via our 'custom shop' page to discuss options. If you're interested in getting JUST a cabinet without equipment, we offer "The Shell" which comes ready to setup and add your own electronics. Our other consoles are not available without electronics.
7Do you retrofit vintage consoles?
We do not retrofit vintage consoles. The Record Parlour in Los Angeles is a great source for this type of service.
8Can I play music from my phone/CD Player/TV/8-track through your consoles?
Absolutely. All consoles come with two easily accessible auxiliary inputs as standard which you can use to plug any of your devices directly into. In addition, our standard models also support Apple AirPlay so you can wirelessly play music directly from any Apple device. If you need more inputs or different wireless connectivity (Bluetooth) let us know and we can accommodate.
9Can I customize my piece?
We have several standard stock models however we do offer custom services and love collaborating on innovative ideas. Prices vary based on the nature of the request. We are currently only taking on large scale custom projects and single custom orders over $15K. Please feel free to get in contact with us via our 'custom shop' page for more information on the custom process and for an estimate.
10Where do you manufacture?
We are partners with a production facility and all of our pieces are manufactured in Los Angeles, CA. Every item is handcrafted and hand-wired by artisans and engineers with decades of experience. All audio elements and components are inspected by our Founder, Dan Knowles, and cabinets and woodworking inspected by our Founder, Jennifer Farmer before shipping out.
11Do you work with members of the trade?
We currently do not support trade programs as we sell direct and not through retail or wholesale channels. We would be happy to work on volume and bulk pricing but all of our items are priced to sell and discounts are not available.
12Will I have to pay taxes?
Sales tax is only charged on items shipped within the state of California. Sales tax is currently 9.5% and will be applied at checkout.
13Where can I see or hear one of your consoles?
We are in the process of searching for a new listening room. At the moment, we do not have any retail locations or listening rooms set up. Please email info@iamluno.com or call us at 747-200-LUNO for further assistance.
