1 – Gatsby Arches: These panels say that you rock so hard in the studio that even your practices feel like wild parties. When people see this, they’ll know there’s a method to your madness.
Gatsby Arches
2 – Digiwave Vertical: These decorative acoustic panels say that you don’t care much for what people think of your music. Sure, you might not have an authentic sound, but that doesn’t matter, because to you make music for today, not for 40 years ago. (BTW, we at LUNO are hurt that an authentic sound is not for you…just kidding…do you!)

3 – Palomar: If you’re the person who likes to experiment and try anything, then these decorative acoustic panels are for you. You don’t give a damn if you mix country with electronica, or alternative rock with hip hop. Musically, you like to walk on the road less traveled, and sometimes go where no one has gone before.
Palomar
4 – Braids: You believe your music is soulful and conscientious. These decorative acoustic panels say your music not only makes people move, it makes them think. When the revolution reaches it next level of intensity, your jams will be the soundtrack.
Braids
5 – 3D Cubes: These decorative acoustic panels say that you love your music to be complex and filled with intricacies. You love when people listen to one of your songs and only catch certain sounds on the third or fourth listen. Your music is like a puzzle, an enigma that is difficult to figure out at first impression, and that’s the way you like it.

6 – Wavy Leaves: These panels say though you love making music, you hate being stuck inside for several hours at a time. In place of windows, this panel design gives you the connection with nature that you desire.

According to an April poll conducted by Reuters, only 40% of Americans say that they would return to live concerts right now before a Coronavirus vaccine were available. That minority also said the same thing about sporting events, amusement parks, festivals, and other large gatherings.
What’s worse, a Screen Engine/ASI poll released in May surveyed tens of thousands of Americans between the ages of 13 and 64 which showed that the concern only deepened. Just a month later, only 5% said that they would attend a live concert or sporting event right. There’s no denying that the concern for the pandemic is real, and that has changed the landscape of the music business. If there’s a second wave, it could spook the public even more.
With Coronavirus cases in the U.S. just passed 6.2 million, most people want to wait at least until 2021 to return to any live in-person events. Every week, promising vaccine developments are announced, but most people are remaining cautiously optimistic. If we’re struggling to re-open schools and college campuses without a surge in cases, no wonder people are worried about returning to large scale events. When is the next time you’ll be able to enjoy a concert at a stadium or arena? We have no clue.
This has forced bands to pivot to live stream concerts on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch to meet a demand for content that is growing. People are still interested in consuming content of all forms, which is somewhat great for content creators. But it’s only a small blessing because no streaming service can replace revenue from the gate. The futures of many artists depend on how comfortable the public is to return to live concerts.

There was one interview a week, with a moderator from Gibson asking Kramer questions about how these stars they worked, put their songs together, recorded, performed, and handled their craft. Kramer talks about how these big stars found inspiration in the studio and what they used to motivate them. The series is an inside look at the world of Rock and Roll from a man who has recorded some of the greatest music of the last 60 years.
You’ll really appreciate how these artists thought about their music. Even though Kramer’s stories are what he observed from working with these stars, you’ll become a little more familiar with how they did their thing. You know the names, songs, albums, concerts, and posters, but Kramer tells us about the nuts and bolts of how they made their magic. There’s sure to be things that Eddie talks about that you never knew about your favorite artists, no matter how big of a fan you are.
Each interview was around 50-minutes in length, starting with a discussion with the moderator, and mixed with questions from viewers in the chat. Check out all four interviews of Ask Eddie Kramer Presented By Gibson from the company’s YouTube channel below:

This hotel in the fashionable design/shopping Burj Khalifa district, was designed by the late architect, Zaha Hadid. It is the only hotel where she designed the architecture and the interior design. Of the building, the firm which still carries her name, describes the architecture of the hotel as a “balance between solid and void, opaque and transparent, interior and exterior.”
The building is in the form of a glass cube with an irregular void at the center, with an atrium at the ground floor and 3-level bridge at the top. It’s a very fluid design, with lots of curves. Special glass with UV coating keep the desert sunlight from making the interiors too hot.
Most of the furniture in the hotel was designed by Zaha Hadid. The 19 two-and-three-bedroom suites have a work-play functionality. There are 74 other regular rooms fitted with Bose sound system and the most futuristic furniture that you’ve ever seen. The hotel also includes restaurants, bars, and office space meeting rooms. And then there is a gym with the highest caliber of equipment that you’ll find on the market called the Technogym’s Biocircuit where you can input your biometrics and get a personalized workout programmed for you. You can go to their website to see how they are operating during the pandemic. As most hotels that have re-opened are doing, they have enhanced the cleaning and hygiene methods that they use. Bon Voyage!

We’re excited to announce The Know’s debut EP, wearetheknow, that is officially out today and coincidentally, Dan Knowles and Jennifer Farmer, the Founders of LUNO’s project.
The EP spans 5 tracks that showcase their dreamy soundscapes, fuzzy guitar textures, and fearless desire to carve a place for themselves. From production to visuals, The Know took on every aspect of the project themselves. Much like with LUNO, Knowles, formerly the guitarist and producer of UK shoegazers, Amusement Parks on Fire, and live sound engineer for bands like Cigarettes After Sex and Caroline Polachek, handled the “sound” and Farmer handled the “vision.”
The EP provides an unflinching look at the couple. It often delves deep into the duo’s personal lives by honestly narrating stories from their relationship and life experiences against a kaleidoscopic sonic palette. wearetheknow
wearetheknow features tracks like “143, ” the couple’s lead single that drew critical acclaim. The song was inspired by Tom Waits’ ‘(Looking for) The Heart of Saturday Night’, by melding autobiographical with fantastical lyrics and unfolds as a series of conversations, images, and hazy recollections of a night out.
The EP also features “Hold Me Like You Know Me” and “Someday Maybe” – tracks that pegged The Know “as one of the genre’s freshest acts” and “one of the best dream pop acts to have hit the scene as of late.”
Two unreleased tracks “Dreamlike State” and “The Tiny Door” complete the 5 song EP bring up memories of Beach House and Low’s “Double Negative.”
wearetheknow is available on all streaming platforms and Bandcamp. Limited Edition Vinyl available by the band and Limited Edition CDs by Shoredive Records.
A very good inside also source tells me EP #2 is already in the works!

There will be a Virtual Black Rock City 2020. What form it will take, or how it will come off, nobody knows yet. It could be a success or one heck of a flop. But the real worry for Burning Man isn’t if this year’s edition can be a success. The real worry is if this year will be its last.
Of course, the Burning Man Project is putting a brave face on, like many organizations, and like many of us. But this pandemic has changed the game for many businesses. Things will not go back to normal for at least 2 years or more. This pandemic is changing and will continue the change the psyche of the live-event loving public. And even when things to go back to normal, who is to say that people will be eager to return to the world of live events.
What sucks is that Burning Man gets 90% of their revenue from ticket sales. The event mainly funds their programs throughout the year. Which means that even an online event cannot be free if the event is to survive beyond this year’s edition.
But what really sucks, is the lost of influence. The lost of Silicon Valley corporate executives and other high-profile individuals whose presence made Burning Man the place tens of thousands wanted to be. The experience of going to an event in the desert became an international allure.
In a world where people are going to be turning away from being together for the foreseeable future, even large events like Burning Man may be threatened.

Back in April, the U.S. music industry created the MusicCovidRelief.com, a website to help musical artists find information about how they can receive benefits from recently created Federal relief programs. With $2 trillion U.S. in federal aid that came available, the music industry wanted to help out its members who might need it. And not just for performers.
Say you own a company that designs and makes high-end pianos for the residential market, your company could benefit from a small business loan included in the aid package. Not just loans, but advances and loan forgiveness too. It all depends on the state that your business is situated in, and you can find that information on MusicCovidRelief.com.
One of the things that is true of how this pandemic is affecting the music industry, is in how it has highlighted the importance of the smaller players in the game. Yes, the big stars will probably weather the storm just fine, but most of the industry is made up of smaller players. From the technical staff right up to the aspiring artists opening up for the international stars on global tours, the smaller players keep the industry moving, innovative, and growing. Without them, the music industry would struggle. That’s why the industry is doing as much as it can to help out as many artists as it can.

If fact, these speakers are so much better that they can be found in boutique hotels around the world. Their simple, sleek, Scandinavian design and their precious sound has made them a favorite of tourists. In certain of those hotels, products that guests used during their stay are made available for purchase at the shop or on their website, and the Vifa wireless loudspeaker is no different.
The frame of the speaker is aluminium, and the fabric is smooth. Vifa collaborated with Kvadrat, a Danish-textile company, to create an exclusive resistant fabric with good acoustic transmission. You can connect to the loudspeakers via a cable or Bluetooth. Vifa sells four types of wireless loudspeakers: City, Oslo, Helsinki, and Reykjavik. The last two comes with a leather strap that allows you to hold it in your hand like a bag as you walk around. So you can bring it to the office, place it on the table, and listen to music on a device with sound that rivals what you have at home.

It’s being sold as the vehicle that can change its surroundings with its presence and its aura. A smooth beast with a more pronounced darkened chrome grille, capable of projected might while also moving gracefully through the urban landscape. The Cullinan SUV is the latest in the Black Badge series of vehicles, for a younger clientele that wants that Rolls-Royce exclusivity, but with a more edgy look. Rolls-Royce launched the Black Badge series to cater to what they called a “subversive cohort,” who are not that interested in traditional car styles and seek a newer form of luxury vehicle. This 6,069-pound SUV has strong steering, stronger air suspension, eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive (22-inch wheels), and is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.7-litre V12 engine. There’s even a button on the gear shift lever to amplify the sound of the engine for added effect.
Inside the 5-seat Cullinan, carbon fiber is used to give the center console and the dashboard a certain three-dimensional elegance, topped with a 6-coat lacquer finish. Leather accents and extremely soft carpets add to the beauty. The Cullinan is more of a city SUV than one for going through the countryside. It’s all a big step up from the first version of the Cullinan that launched in 2016.
“Black Badge reflects the desires of a distinct group of Rolls-Royce clients: men and women who take risks, break rules and build success on their own terms,” said Torsten Müller-Ötvös, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, in a press release.
It’s 2020 and vinyl is still in style.

Since 2000, the modern living produced by McClean Design has increased the popularity of luxury architecture and interior design. They are one of the most sought-after firms in the L.A. area for their luxury residential palatial houses. Every one of their projects plays with the connection between indoors and outdoors, with expansive windows allowing for panoramic vistas of the adjacent landscape and the L.A Basin.
All of Paul McClean’s 60-plus projects are distinct, but they all share certain similarities. Many projects take advantage of topography and landscape to provide privacy, and to create spacious basement levels where clients can host private parties overlooking the city. Cantilevered rooms with impressive views can be found in many projects, along with interior courtyards with trees. Other similarities between the projects are entertainment rooms, double-height spaces, infinity pools, waterfalls, reflection ponds, fountains, vegetation walls, and multi-car garages.

So how does music inspire this famous architect as a person and as a designer? We asked the man himself. Here’s what he had to say:
“Music has been a constant presence in my life since a very early age and I love many different types from classical through to techno. I am not very musically inclined but that does not stop me from listening. It inspires me and alters or enhances my mood depending on what I am listening to and how I am feeling. As long as I have been listening to music though I have wanted to be an architect.“
“I have been fortunate to be able to work in a field that I love and have been successfully running my own firm for the last twenty years. We specialize in high end contemporary homes and our design process is very intense but also fulfilling.”
“Designing contemporary homes is integrally connected with music for me. It is very much about movement and pattern. I don’t think I have ever really designed anything worthwhile without music in the background. It helps me get into a place where my mind is open to new ideas and where I can visualize connections between spaces and proportion.”
“I often listen to contemporary classical music such as Philip Glass or Hans Richter while drawing. The ebb and flow of Glass’s compositions seem to flow directly onto the page, repetition and pattern flow through the design with the music building to high and low points in both the design and the score.”
“Recently I have been working on a large home for a family in Thailand. It was important to the Owner that the home be unique and I was inspired looking at a sheet of music. The home has been designed as a series of high and low “notes” against a datum similar to how notes are arranged on a sheet. Perhaps too direct an interpretation, we will see as the design progresses.”

“Much of our work today is done in three dimensions with the aid of computers and design software but growing up in the eighties and early nineties everything was drawn by hand and long hours of drafting late into the night were only possible with the help of a diverse soundtrack not limited to but generally involving U2, Eurhythmics, Kraftwerk, Crowded House, Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil among many other favorites. Maybe it’s time to revisit some of that and see how it might influence the designs we are working on today.”
